The Bodleian Library site includes the Old Library, Weston Library and Radcliffe Camera. The Old Library and Weston Library are open to visitors.

Old Bodleian Library

Broad Street, Oxford, OX1 3BG

You can enter the Old Library site from Catte Street (east) and from Radcliffe Square (south). We recommend entering via Catte Street, using the Great Gate, which provides direct access to the Old Schools Quadrangle and the Old Library.

Once you reach the Old Schools Quadrangle, the Old Library entrance faces west. Through the glass doors behind the statue, you can enter the Proscholium (the entrance hall to the Divinity School). Here you can access the Divinity School, where all tours start.

Blackwell Hall, Weston Library

Broad Street, Oxford, OX1 3BG

Blackwell Hall is the main visitor hall of the Weston Library. From Blackwell Hall you can visit our two exhibition rooms, as well as our family-friendly café, Space for Reading, and display cases featuring smaller exhibitions. You can access the Weston Library Shop via Blackwell Hall or from Broad Street directly.

 Buy tour tickets

Buy your tickets for tours and entry to the Divinity School from the information desk in the Weston Library. You don't need a ticket to enter the Weston Library or go inside our exhibitions.

 Wheelchair access

There is a ramp for wheelchair access. Find out more about accessibility at our sites.

 Wi-Fi

The Weston Library offers free public Wi-Fi.

How to get here

 Public transport

Oxford has great transport links by bus and rail. Oxford is less than an hour from London and Birmingham by train. The Old Bodleian Library and Weston Library are a 15-minute walk from Oxford train station. The city centre has brilliant bus connections and there are five Park and Ride sites connected to Oxford. For more information visit the Oxford City Council website.

Please allow ample time to get here from destinations outside Oxford if you are using public transport, as there have been frequent issues with transport links recently.

Please note that tour tickets are non-refundable, and ticket holders are expected 10 minutes before all tour bookings.

  Cycling

For those cycling to visit us, our nearest bike racks are:

  • On the corner of Parks Road next to the Weston Library on both sides of the road
  • On Catte Street opposite the Great Gate of the Old Library
  • On Broad Street

Use the Cyclox Oxford Cycle Map for local bike routes and Sustrans for regional/national cycle routes.

 E-scooter

Oxford is currently running an e-scooter trial scheme (until May 2026) with around 850 electric scooters available to hire in and around Oxford. E-scooters can be used on the road, cycle lanes, and shared cycle/footpaths, within the trial area but not on pavements. You must be over 18 and have a full or provisional driving licence to use these.

The nearest e-scooter parking site to us is on the corner of Parks Road.

To see all locations, and to find out how to use and hire e-scooters, download the Voi app.

 Parking

There are very limited parking spaces available on Parks Road. If you wish to drive, you will find Park and Ride by far the best way to get into Oxford.

Blue Badge parking

There are 9 Blue Badge parking spaces nearby: 4 spaces on Broad Street, and 5 on Parks Road.

Please refer to the Oxfordshire Council website for more information on disabled parking spaces and access to the city by car.
