About the event

The course takes place over six sessions, during which you will receive individual guidance to develop your own prints, in black and white and in colour. We will work on image selection, composition and design, block preparation, image transfer, carving techniques, and printing with you.

The course includes an introductory session at the Weston Library, where you will be invited to explore examples of linocuts and printmaking in the Bodleian Libraries' special collections.

During the course you will have access to all the basic equipment you need to make and print linocut. The instructors will give you advice on materials and equipment and teach you how to print without a press so you can carry on developing your skills at home.

Participants must be age 18 and over. All materials are provided. No previous experience necessary.
