About the workshop
Are you a photography enthusiast who would like to build your portfolio?
Come along to the Bodleian Libraries' very first free photography morning and get behind-the-scenes access to one of the most architecturally stunning libraries in the world.
Enjoy unparalleled access to some of the most iconic spaces the Bodleian has to offer, including the magical Duke Humfrey’s Library, Divinity School and Radcliffe Camera (usually only accessible to Bodleian Readers or tour ticket holders). You might have your work featured in the next Bodleian Libraries marketing campaign!
Our Bodleian photographer, Nick Cistone, will be on hand to help and offer advice.
You are welcome to bring your own models – children can take part too!*
Feel free to be as creative as you like with your shots and let us see the Bodleian Libraries through your eyes.
Schedule
- 8.30am: Meet in the Old Schools Quad of the Bodleian Old Library.
- 8.30am – 10am: Spend time inside the Bodleian Old Library and its most historic spaces.
- 10 –11am: Explore and capture the contemporary interior of the Weston Library, including the exhibition spaces.
- 11am – 12pm: Exterior spaces and other shots.
Equipment
Participants are asked to bring their own equipment. Lighting can only be LED; and if lighting is required, we recommend handheld LED light wands etc.
Please note: this is not a drone workshop, and drone imaging will not be allowed.

*All participants must register ahead of time, including models.
