About the event

What does it mean to be a book collector? Do you think of the books you own as a collection, or just a miscellaneous jumble? Perhaps you are about to start or expand on a collection, and you are looking for inspiration. If you already own books, do you shelve them by colour? And do you write in them? And why might these questions matter?

Explore these themes and more with Dr Francesca Galligan, Deputy Head of Rare Books at the Bodleian Libraries and author of Looking After Your Books, through stories of curious books and collections both past and present.

Speaker

Francesca Galligan is Deputy Head of Rare Books at the Bodleian Libraries. She is the author of Looking After Your Books, available now from Bodleian Library Publishing.
