About the event
In 2024 the Bodleian Libraries acquired the autograph manuscript of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata for Ascension Day. The manuscript is one of only four in the UK in the hand of the great composer. It is currently on display in the Write Cut Rewrite exhibition at the Weston Library.
The Friends of the Bodleian have asked Professor Robert Quinney to speak about this wonderful acquisition. Come and hear more about this jewel in the Bodleian Libraries' music collections.
Speaker
Professor Robert Quinney is Organist and Tutorial Fellow in Music at New College, Oxford.
