About this event

Join us for an event to celebrate the publication of The Warleggan Assembly, a book and recording of Regency country dances.

Following the popular Playford Ball in Blackwell Hall last year, The Warleggan Village Band return for a concert of music and a talk by Matthew Coatsworth (curator of the Dancing Master events).

This time, they have taken a small leather half-bound book simply entitled 'Dances' that was donated to the Bodleian Libraries by Walter Harding and, with Georgia Delve, have interpreted some of the very best into a collection of sheet music, modern interpretations of the dances and notes about each dance, as well as an hour of music aimed equally for dancers and listeners.

Copies of the book, CD and digital download will be available to purchase on the day.

Please note: this is a seated concert in the Lecture Theatre.
