About the event

Dr Mahroo Moosavi examines the Bodleian’s several Safavid (1501-1722 AD) epistolographical majmū‘a [compilation] manuscripts and compares the abstruse, hyperbolic language of these with the poetry of the time (Sabk-i Isfahani), placing this particular prose style in the context of an emerging urban society in early-modern Iran.

This lecture is also being livestreamed on YouTube.
