As part of the Oxford-wide celebrations taking place coordinated by The Story Museum the Bodleian Libraries will bring you a selection of stories to picture Alice’s time in Wonderland and beyond.
Over the course of the month:
We will travel back in time to the 12th century to discover the inspiration for that ‘Treacle Well’ from the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Find out more at Alice in Medieval Oxford
Much like today with the Covid-19 pandemic Alice’s real world also had to contend with another disease: typhoid. Typhoid plagued the population of Victorian England and is still a major global health threat. Join Alice Liddell on our fascinating online exhibition, Alice in Typhoidland, with videos, games, posters, and learning packs as we delve beneath Victorian Oxford’s dreaming spires and idyllic River Thames, and discover the murky underside of the city and the battle to rid it of typhoid.
