About the event
Enjoy a unique Valentine’s evening tour of the Divinity School, Duke Humfrey’s Library, Convocation House and Chancellor’s Court.
Our team will share the history of how and why the buildings came to be, and the stories behind the spaces.
This unusual tour shares the history of Thomas James, appointed by Sir Thomas Bodley as the first librarian. Forbidden to marry in the role, Thomas James nevertheless followed his heart and defied convention: a true tale of love for this Valentine’s tour.
