About the display
Martin Parr (1952–2025) was one of the most influential photographers of the past 50 years, transforming the medium through his distinctive vision and commitment to photography. These fifteen photographs come from a Bodleian-commissioned project documenting a year in the life of the University of Oxford, from ceremonial traditions to everyday academic life. A passionate advocate of the photobook, Parr produced almost 150 publications, including Oxford (2017).
This small display celebrates his legacy as photographer, collaborator, and champion of photographic books.
