Six-week linocut course

Linocut printmaking using the Bodleian’s hand-operated presses. This course will enable you to work on a linocut prints, in black and white or colour, working on subtlety of composition with images of your own choice.

Classes take place 5.30–8pm on the following Mondays: 27 April, 11 May, 18 May, 25 May, 1 June, 8 June 2020.

The class will meet in in the printing workshop, Schola Musicae, Bodleian Library. The room is accessible via a ground-floor entrance. Please report to the Bodleian Library Great Gate, accessed from Catte Street, upon arrival.

Tickets cost £180

Booking is essential. Tickets are for the entire six-week course and include all materials. Each transaction is subject to a £1 booking fee.

Make a hand-printed book in five days

  20–26 July 2020

With five days of instruction in the Bodleian's printing workshop, you will design, type-set, illustrate and print your own booklet using hand-operated presses.

This course is designed to teach the three elements needed to make an illustrated book, typesetting, illustration and book-binding. Over five days you will apply these skills to your own illustrated book and at the end you will have a completed, printed and bound book.
