About the event

This course offers you the chance to learn linocutting from the basics, or to work on improving and developing your existing printmaking skills. Starting online, you will receive individual guidance, as the instructors work with you to develop your own prints, in black and white and in colour. We will work on image selection, composition and design, block preparation, image transfer and carving techniques.

As part of this course, for those who can travel to the Bodleian Library in Oxford after 19 May, we offer one hour-long session printing in the Bodleian Bibliographical Press, taking impressions from your blocks and learning about registration, paper and ink.

The course will meet on the following Wednesdays: 19 May, 26 May, 2 June, 9 June, 16 June, 23 June and 14 July.

Course equipment

The cost of the course covers tuition only.

We can recommend equipment suppliers, or for an additional fee of £15 we can provide you with the basic equipment needed to make and print a linocut. These materials can be added on at checkout.
